Sahara Desert with Tarot

Hello everyone… I have no idea why but tonight the desert Sahara called me. I found a documentary about it and out of nowhere the idea of pulling some cards for the Sahara Desert came to my mind. That led me to pull four cards and here they are…

The sun, high pristess, ace of cups, the star

I adore the practice of trying to explain things with tarot cards and when I find something interesting like the Sahara Desert I ask my cards to explain it in tarot’s unique language. The result helps me to explore the special meanings of the cards in my own shadows…

I love sharing my journey notes here so I wanted to share the mystery of the beautiful Sahara and its special meanings for tarot.

As you can see we have the sun, the star, the high priestess, and the ace of cups… these cards made me feel so deeply about the sands of the desert but let’s start with the sun and star cards.
The sun is not only the symbol of a desert but also shows me the level of electromagnetism through the hills of sand. Electricity is everything for a witch because it is the ultimate source of magick… with the high priestess card I can easily feel how witchy I would feel in the middle of the desert but probably I can’t even imagine this in my ordinary city life.

The star card tells me the tales of the desert’s night sky of the desert… I don’t think it is a coincidence that it is not the moon card but the stars… It feels like it is telling me that ‘you can’t even imagine the number of stars you can see when the king is gone for a while…

As a scientific witch, starlight is something that I am still working on. I have discovered some healthy and also dangerous aspects of the stars but if only I could be there I am sure I would download all the information that I wanted to know in a second with the high priestess card again 🙂

The high priestess card here mostly shows the power of witchcraft in the area. I have never worked with snakes or sands but I can easily say the radiation levels can turn you into a very powerful manifester and divine communicator if, of course, your neurological system can support that much light! What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger…

And the most amazing card here is… Ace of cups… such a thirst for water… I have never looked at the ace of cups this way before. To me it was always the relationship or to be filled with emotions… but here it represents how dry the floor is… eternal longing for just a cup of water… It gives me the feeling that the desert is not serene and still but crying without tears… there isn’t even some water enough for the tears to shed… such a dry… and again shows me how holly and important the water is for the whole world… so ace of cups comes with the meaning of ‘value of the water’… and of course how dry we are without the emotions…

So this spread tells me ‘Imagine a place, so powerful with the sunlight and full of imagination because the electricity is the imagination, such a magical atmosphere in the night that one can download and the secret of this life… but no emotion… that’s why there is no life… just an endless road of the sands of time… time flows but no sign of life…

Ugh! Too romantic… of course there is life in the desert but very few… but we find the skeletons of the ancient whales and dinosaurs hidden in the sands of time… Once there was water with green fields but it’s gone now! Left with the water leaving the life behind which is now nothing but a fossil skeleton…
Ok, these cards made me too emotional… I am the ace of cups in this reading, the Sahara desert is the high priestess and you guys are my stars. And as long as there is our king the sun shines up there we will keep celebrating the amazingness of witchcraft…

With love…
